Quando vi que a primeira versão desta cache tinha sido arquivada não percebi bem a razão pela qual isso tinha acontecido. Não vendo nenhuma razão para isso acontecer e sendo este um local de que gosto muito decidi fazer uma segunda versão. Entrei em contacto com o owner da primeira versão e que teve a ideia de colocar esta cache, o marioafonso. Rapidamente recebi da parte dele uma mensagem a incentivar-me a seguir com o projecto de fazer esta segunda versão. Foi nessa mensagem que fiquei a saber que a cache foi arquivada porque a maior parte dos geocachers chegava, assinava e não ligava ao tema, sendo que poucos eram os logs que referiam este tão preocupante tema que fala de um problema não só ambiental mas também social.
Lancei o desafio a mim mesmo de despertar a atenção para este tema nesta segunda versão.
Podia apresentar números chocantes de áreas ardidas, de mortes de bombeiros, de casas ardidas… Mas penso que tal não despertaria assim tanta atenção.
Esperemos que as árvores artificiais como aquela que se encontra perto do GZ com o objectivo de disfarçar a presença de uma antena de comunicações não sejam as únicas árvores que restem no futuro… Fica aqui a proposta de um pequeno passeio a um outro ponto aqui perto que, pelo menos a mim, faz-me ficar bastante chocado e alarmado com a desolação que os incêndios em Portugal têm criado.

When I saw the first version of this cache had been archived I didn’t quite understand why this had happened. Seeing no reason for this to happen and being this is a place that I love I decided to make a second version of it. I contacted the owner of the first version, marioafonso. Soon I received a message from him to encourage me to continue with the project of making this second version. It was on this message that I learned that the cache was archived because most geocachers arrived, signed and didn’t care about the theme of the cache. Few were the logs that refer to this highly disturbing theme that speaks of a problem not only environmental but also social in Portugal.
I took the challenge of drawing attention to this subject on this second version.
I could show shocking numbers of burned areas, deaths of firefighters, burned houses ... But unfortunately I think this does not arouse so much attention.
Hopefully artificial trees like the one found near the GZ, in order to disguise the presence of a communications antenna, won’t be the only trees remaining in the future... With this cache I propose a short ride to another spot nearby that, at least to me, makes me quite shocked and alarmed by the desolation that the fires in Portugal have created.
