PT: O Caminho das Chamas…
Esta cache tem como objectivo sensibilizar e impressionar quem a encontra para o impacto que os incêndios em Portugal têm tido nas últimas décadas. A paisagem que podem observar do GZ só estará idêntica à que estava no início de 2013 daqui a mais de 30 Anos!
Reparem na paisagem antes do incêndio que passou por este monte e comparem com o cenário que irão encontrar.
Infelizmente esta comparação pode ser feita em centenas de locais por todo o país. Este é um problema ambiental e social que tem de ser combatido.
Espero que esta cache seja uma semente de esperança...
A zona envolvente à localização final da cache:
Nas proximidades do container desta cache para além de poderem observar uma vista deslumbrante para o Vale e para os rios podem ainda observar dois pontos muito interessantes que podem ser facilmente localizados nas proximidades.
Um deles é um cruzeiro que podem ver antes de chegar à cache. É chamado o Cruzeiro da Menina pois assinala o local onde morreu uma jovem que por ali pastava o gado há cerca de 100 anos.
A Nordeste do cruzeiro podem encontrar uma fonte do Séc. XVII, chamada Fonte de Santo Antão, o mesmo Santo que dá nome ao monte.
Agradeço aqui aos voluntários que tratam do património edificado, e não só, daquele monte e que me deram uma ajuda preciosa na colocação desta cache bem como me mostraram estes locais que aqui refiro. Agradeço tambem a todos os outros que me ajudaram na colocação da cache

Para encontrar esta cache terão de visitar uma cache tradicional que se encontra em Moledo e que tem um tema idêntico ao desta cache. No interior do container da cache: “Árvores do Futuro (V2)” (GC58E10) http://coord.info/GC58E10 poderão encontrar as coordenadas do container final desta cache.

This cache has the goal of raising awareness and impress who finds it of the impact that the florestal fires is having in Portugal on the last decade. The landscape that you can see from the GZ will take more than 30 years to be like it was back in the begining of 2013!
Take a look at the landsacape before the fire that passed by this hill and compare with the scenario that you'll find.
Unfurtonatily this comparison can be made at hundreds of places across Portugal. This is an enverionemental problem and a social one that has to be foght.
I hope that this cache could be a seed of hope...
The surrounding area of the final cache location:
Near the final container in addition to be able to observe a breathtaking view of the valley and the river you can still observe two very interesting points that can be easily located nearby.
One of them is a “cruzeiro” (I don’t know the correct translation but it’s basically a stone cross, this crosses are very common in the region of Minho) that you can see before you reach the cache. It is called “Cruzeiro da Menina” (“Cross of the Girl” roughly translated) because it marks the place where a young girl died about 100 years ago while she was over there grazing cattle.
Northeast of the cross you can find a source of the seventeenth century, called Source of Santo Antão, which also gives the name to the hill where the cache is.
I want to thank here the volunteers who take care of the built heritage and the surroundings of this hilltop, for the work they do, for the precious help they gave me in the placement of this cache and also for showing me these places which I refer here. I also thank everyonelse that helped me placing this cache.

To find this cache you'll need to find a tradicional cache that is in Moledo and that has a similiar theme. Inside of the container of the cache "Árvores do Futuro (V2)" (Trees of the future) (GC58E10) http://coord.info/GC58E10 you can find the coordinates for the final container of this cache.
