View of Mount Rundle from the Bow River bank less than 50 meters down the hill from the cache hiding spot
This is one of ten geocaches in our Parkway Challenge Series. All caches in the series are placed in close proximity to the network of pathways along either side of the Three Sisters Parkway. The challenge is to find and sign the official log for all ten geocaches. There’s no set order for finding the caches and no information to collect. We’ll reward the first five geocaching accounts to complete the challenge with an unactivated GeoKs’ geocoin, delivered via snail mail unless alternate arrangements are made.
The terrain rating for all caches in the series is two or lower. We rode bikes or walked to place all the caches in their hiding spots. The difficulty ratings range from 1.5 to 5. Several caches in the series are highly engineered. Brute force is NOT required. Brain power IS required. If you can't open a cache in this series, there's probably something about the cache container that you haven't yet figured out. Please re-read the cache title, description and hint (if any) for any information you may have overlooked and then try again.
The other geocaches in the series are:
GC4KAQ4 – Welcome to Three Sisters
GC755H7 - Birdhouse MAZE
GC4M9H7 – Avis Domus
GC4NCWC – Angry Birds?
GC4M9HJ – Alexander Graham Bell
GC5XYK2 – Pipe Dreams II
GC4M9HT – Ironhide
GC4M9HE – Riverside Trail
GC4NCWX – The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Search the base of the tree for a retrieval tool. The GeoKids each took different approaches to the retrieval ... one approach requires finesse and the other some rather clever lateral thinking. Either way you should have your hands on the cache in a reasonable length of time. Be sure to hold on to the container lid to keep it from retracting to its hiding spot while you sign the log. Please be sure the container is properly seated in its hiding spot when you’re through and do not add any items to the cache in order to allow proper retraction. Also, replace the retrieval tool so it’s available for the use by the next finder.
NOTE: This area is frequented by wildlife, including elk, deer and occasionally coyotes, bears and/or cougars. Please be WILDSMART - make lots of noise and carry bear spray (and know how to use it).
This cache is a short walk from "GC4KAQ4 - Welcome to Three Sisters" and we recommend you leave your vehicle parked on Fitzgerald Rise and walk the <200 meters to this cache from there.
