Swedish Chef - MSS10 - CCARS12 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

GeoWyrm: The last of the individual Muppet caches... it pains me to see this series go but it had a good run, many visits, and many tours of the city later... the series is done.

Geocache Description:

March 23, 2015 Update: We have decided to lay this series to rest soon and open all the spots this series holds for new geocaches. Since many are still working toward the final, we are giving plenty of advanced notice but early this summer (June to maybe July) will be your last chance.

There is absolutely no access to the cache from either Deerfoot or McKnight. It is an easy park and grab from posted parking coordinates off 11th Street NE.

The Muppet Show - Muppet Show Series FINAL (GC3H7QH)

The Swedish Chef made his first appearance in the 1975 pilot episode. He is a humanoid character with human hands rather than gloves (although he does have muppet hands for poster photos).

His skits would open with the Chef singing his Mock Swedish signature song that always ended with "Børk! Børk! Børk!" and throwing various utensils over his shoulder, sending them crashing into the crockery behind him.

Throughout the skit, he spoke in nonstop Mock Swedish gibberish with random English words thrown in so we could follow what he was attempting to do. For example, when the Chef prepares a chili and takes care to add tiny amounts of "speecy-spicy", "hotsie-totsie", and "peppersaucen". He gives the chili a taste but although smoke comes out of his ears, he apparently likes it EXTREMELY spicy so he adds significantly more portions of the ingredients. He blows his top upon second taste.

His methods and choice of utensils in the kitchen were extremely unorthodox, using items such as tennis rackets and explosives. The skit would degenerate into slapstick humour, pitting the chef in various battles with his ingredients.

The Swedish Chef was so popular he had his own cereal (Cröonchy Stars) in 1988 and was regularly appeared on Donna’s Day (with Donna Erickson).
