The third Saturday of August is not only when we gather for the
great Kansas City Picnic,
but it is also now heralded as International Geocaching Day.
Since perhaps millions across the world will be celebrating this
auspicious occasion, we in the Kansas City caching community could
not let this moment pass by without commemorating it.
While this event calls for a grand gala of proportions only seen
at royal weddings, we, dare I say most of us, have already
committed ourselves many moons ago to attending the 11th Annual Kansas City Picnic
.
Therefore, our celebration must be quick, pointed, and above
all, tasteful.
Nothing says tasteful like a large plate of crispy
bacon…
More on topic though, no event demonstrates tasteful like a
giant helping of PHOON!
To mark the First International Geocaching Day, join us in Blue
Springs, Missouri, home of the 11th Annual Kansas City Picnic for
the First International Geocaching Day Phoon Event.
This phoon will raise the bar.
Most phooners phoon around an inanimate object that is unaware
of the existence of phoon.
On International Geocaching Day, however, we will be phooning with
artwork sculptures that will be phooning along with us.
Yes, that’s right googly eyed baby. The sculptures will be
phooning along with us.
To our knowledge, this will be a first in phooning history.
And you can be a part of it.
Those of you who have never phooned before, fear not. Prior to
the phoon, a professional phooner will demonstrate phoon for you.
Then, you will have phoon. In fact, you will have group phoon. And
not just any group phoon. International group phoon. And as we all
know, international group phoon, is simply the best phoon one can
phoon.
So come on out and have some harmless fun as we celebrate the First
International Geocaching Day.
