Geocache Description:

A bring a picnic Birthday Event to celebrate the 10 years of GC18FA Glorious Gloucestershire which was placed on Crickley Hill and listed on the 26th August 2001.

When: Sunday 28th August 2011, from 11am 'til 2:30pm.

Where: Crickley Hill Country Park just off the A417 near the Air Balloon public house.

Why: Do you need an excuse! Because it's 10 years ago that a cache was placed on Crickley Hill. If you've not been here before there are: excellent panoramic views, beech woodlands, oakwood parkland, an archaeological site, in an area of outstanding beauty and there's a visitor centre with toilets.

Who: Nostalgic Geocachers of any age who fancy a get together or newbies who wonder what an Event is all about. The Event is accessible to wheel chair users and families with strollers. Geodogs are also welcome but please keep them under close control and clean up after them.

What: To talk about geocaching and non-geocaching (yes you are allowed to!) stories old and new, swap TB's and geocoins and have a good time.

Parking: There is lots of parking but as this is a bank holiday weekend, it could get very busy, so come early. The parking is Pay and Display, the following charges apply:
Up to 2 hours £1.00
Up to 4 hours £2.00
Over 4 hours £3.00
You can pay in cash or via your mobile.

Further Information: Gloucestershire County Council's web site has further information about the park and some information and short trail leaflets available to download, if you wish to make a day of it.
