How to find Margarites?
Driving on the Old Road there is a crossing west of Perama on waypoint N 35° 22.363 E 024° 41.000 with a signpost to Margarites. Follow this road up to Margarites and parking area N 35° 20.386 E 024° 41.289.Here you will find a signpost to the Monastery Margarites. The monastery is built on rocks and in front of it there are two impressing large trees growing out of the rocks. Right behind the entrance is an aviary mainly with budgies but some other birds as well. The small church has a rich interior and mostly the door can be unlocked with a key. In season time an exhibition room is open. You can leave the monastery opposite the entrance and find the cemetery and in a small distance behind monastery a small ostrich farm. With a little luck you can see these birds and may be some ostrich eggs under trees. Be careful ostriches are very curious this is lovely to see but they can bite. The cache is a Micro. It is a film canister (wrapped into two plastic bags) with: Logbook and the Geocache Site. There is no pencil in. Please bring your own with you to log. Please be careful for muggles and hide the cach well after logging.
