Geocache Description:

The co-ordinates take you to the church and church parking. To find the cache you will need to get the answers to a few simple clues.

Hatfield Peverel is the site of a priory founded by the Saxon Ingelrica, wife of Ranulf de Peverel, she is reputed to have been the mistress of William the Conqueror. The priory was for Benedictine Monks and dissolved by Henry VIII. The church stands adjacent to the priory ruin, now the site of a mansion. The house is now very well concealed but very impressive if you can catch a glance.

The present church is the nave of the former priory church and is of Norman origin with many later additions, including extensive restoration in 1873.

The cache is a small container. To find the co-ordinates you need to answer the following questions –

There is an inscription on the bell tower –

The first number of the date on the inscription = A

Add the number of letters in the first word to the number of letters in the 12th word = BC

For clues DEF you need the following –
