Geocache Description:

DEUTSCHE VERSION FOLGT DER ENGLISCHEN! This cache includes one of our favorite walks in the area and follows the local yellow walking signposts. It will take 2-3h (ca. 6-7km) and there are good public transport links all along the walk. GPS reception is generally good, although towards the end it may be intermittent. However, we have hidden the cache in an area where reception should be adequate at all times of the year. Take a pencil and paper with you and ensure you are wearing good boots.

1) Go to the "watering hole" at N47° 19.556 E08° 39.016 and complete the following dates: 197A; 1BC5. Fill in the missing numbers (A), (B) and (C) in the following coordinates: N47° 19.70A E08° 38.BC22) Proceed to the above location and count the number of major steps up to the inscription (excluding the step with the inscription itself!), which will give you (D). (D * 13) gives you the missing number (F) in the next set of coordinates: N47° 20.F E08° 38.3833) Once you have reached this location you start the next phase of your search and now need to collect numbers at several different locations, starting with this one. This location is also where you will "hear newt cobble" for the first time! Write down the altitude given on the signpost (G).4) Go downhill, past a golf course (keep to the right of it) and then through a village to N47° 20.644 E08° 36.932. Look across the two branches of the river and count the number of footbridges (H).5) Go to N47° 20.798 E08° 36.684 and write down the number of minutes it takes to get to Ebmatingen (J).6) Continue downhill to N47° 21.039 E08° 36.166 and write down what date this early "industrial complex" was built (K).7) Use (G, H, J, K) in the formula M=K-(G+H+J) to complete the set of coordinates for "Woodpecker Tree" at N47° 21.M E 08° 35.0158)Take a bearing (NE 050) standing with your back to "Woodpecker Tree" and facing uphill, away from where you "hear newt cobble". This points you to the cache which is located about 15-20m away, and hidden in the roots of a large beech tree. If you stay and watch for a while, you might see some woodpeckers!Once you have found the cache, continue down the main path to the next signpost pointing you to the nearest public transport. Bleistift, Papier und robuste Schuhe sind ein Muss!1) Gehe zum "Wasserloch" bei N47° 19.556 E08° 39.016 und vervollstaendige die folgenden Bau-/ Renovationsjahre: 197A; 1BC5. Die Nummern (A), (B) and (C) muessen in den folgenden Koordinaten eingesetzt werden: N47° 19.70A E08° 38.BC22) Gehe nun zur oben angegebenen Stelle und zaehle die Anzahl grossen Stufen bis hinauf zur Widmung (ohne die Stufe mit der Widmung!). Dies ergibt (D). (D * 13) liefert dir die fehlende Zahl (F) fuer die naechsten Koordinaten: N47° 20.F E08° 38.3833) Sobald du an dieser Stelle angelangt bist, beginnst du die naechste Phase deiner Suche. Angefangen mit dieser Stelle, musst du nun an mehreren Stellen Zahlen sammeln. Hier hoerst du auch zum ersten Mal den "Molch schuhmachen" (leider geht dieses Wortspiel nur auf Englisch)! Notiere die Hoehenmeter die auf dem Wanderwegweiser angegeben sind (G).4) Gehe bergabwaerts, an einem Golfplatz vorbei (immer rechts bleiben), dann durch ein Dorf nach N47° 20.644 E08° 36.932. Schau auf die andere Seite der beiden Fluesse und zaehle die Anzahl Fussgaengerbruecken (H).5) Gehe nach N47° 20.798 E08° 36.684 und notiere wieviele Minuten es braucht um nach Ebmatingen zu wandern (J).6) Gehe weiter bergabwaerts nach N47° 21.039 E08° 36.166 und notiere das Baujahr dieser fruehen "Industrieanlage" (K).7) Mit (G, H, J, K) kannst du nun mittles der Formel M=K-(G+H+J) die Koordinaten fuer "Spechtbaum" vervollstaendigen: N47° 21.M E 08° 35.0158) Stehe mit dem Ruecken gegen "Spechtbaum", schau bergaauf, weg von da wo man "Molch schuhmachen hoert", und nimm eine Peilung (NE 050). Dies gibt die Richtung des Cache an, das in ca. 15-20m Entfernung in den Wurzeln einer grossen Buche versteckt ist. Wenn du eine Weile dort bleibst, siehst du vielleicht Spechte!Nachdem du den Cache gefunden hast, gehe weiter bergab bis zum naechsten Wanderwegweiser, das dich Richtung oeffentliche Verkehrsmittel weist.
