Geocache Description:

04 February 2022, 10:00 - 10:30

Event will be from 10:00am to 10:30am.  Should it rain that morning, the event will be cancelled due to scrambling over slippery rocks, and an announcement will be posted prior to 8:00am.

Lace up your hiking boots, and let's meet at the first painted cross at the posted coordinates.  There we can swap TB's and geocaching stories.  Afterwards we can pay our respects to the four individuals who lost their lives and those who wish can spend time checking out the wreckage. There are two caches that can be searched.  One is GC6ZDG0 which is very close, and the other is GCYWDN which is at the very top of the mountain.   This is NOT an easy hike, but will be very rewarding.  Bring plenty of water and be aware of the typical desert precautions

4WD vehicles or ATV's are definitely required due to sharp rocks in some areas.  Please follow the "Additional Waypoints" to drive to the trailhead.  Start with Prefix R0, then R1, R2, R3. and then to the parking coordinates. Allow at least two hours from the dirt road beginning at Ave 15E to the posted coordinates.  For those without 4WD suggest carpooling with others with 4WD.
