This small box girder bridge once carried the Manx Nothern Railway line north of Kirk Michael.

The MNR line ran from St. John's to Ramsey opened on 23 September 1879. The MNR was only taken over by the Isle of Man Railway following the passing of the Isle of Man Railway Act on 24 May 1905. The line final closed in October 1969 and the line was lifted in 1974.

The two box-girders are supported by attractive stone-piers. The walkway of the bridge is of wooden construction.
