This penny smasher is located at Windermere Lake Cruises at the entrance to pier Number 1.

"Single Die electric machine located just inside the building at Pier 1. Try rolling older British pennies, the reverse side is left visible. Machine takes 50p coin and presses 1p coin. Telephoned 8/16/2005 and the machine is working fine. If the machine is not working, a supply of pre-pressed ECs are available at ticket desk nearby.
The machine was returned in the summer after the floods of 2009
Design:
1) Boat (believed to be 'SWAN' which still operates). Text: 'Windermere Lake Cruises, Bowness'. Pier 3 located right side.
Update Aug 2013: This machine now costs £1 rather than 50p. It seems all the old electric 50p presses are increasing their prices."

"Bowness-on-Windermere is a sprawling tourist town on the shore of Windermere, about halfway along the 10.5 mile length of the lake between Waterhead at the North end, and Lakeside at the South end. It developed after the opening of the railway line from Oxenholme and Kendal to Windermere in 1847. Bowness was the nearest accessible point on the lake."
