"Since October 2010, Natuurmonumenten is the owner of the Oehoevallei: a beautiful place with steep marl walls where the biggest owl in Europe lives: the Eagle Owl. These birds have been successfully breeding every year since 1998 in the walls of the Oehoevallei.

The beautiful valley is cleared of excessive forest and bushes and is now a quiet and quiet area. From the place named "Kiekoet", a new bird lookout on the Sint-Pietersberg, you can get a unique view of the Oehoevallei and the animals and plants that live there.

With the telescope you can search for the mighty eagle owl, the largest owl species in the Netherlands. In the dusk different bats fly here, in the spring and summer butterflies flutter from flower to flower. Special flowers and plants grow on the limestone soils, such as a number of beautiful orchids, wing flower and large centauria.

In the steep walls, additional guidelines have been created for more resting places and nesting sites for the Eagle Owl. As a result, the eagle owls and their young have more varied alternatives.

Natural monuments allow the nature reserve to be grazed by sheep. These animals ensure that the area is not overgrown by grass and trees do not get a chance to grow big.

Thanks to the calcareous soil, you will find animals and plants that normally live much more to the south. You will find here the largest variety of butterflies in the Netherlands and beautiful orchids bloom in summer. This viewing point offers visitors of Sint-Pietersberg a unique insight into the ENCI quarry with its special inhabitants such as land goats, foxes and unique birds.

"De prachtige vallei is vrijgemaakt van overmatig bos en struiken en is inmiddels een rust- en stiltegebied. Je kunt vanaf de Kiekoet aan de Van Schaikweg, een nieuwe vogeluitkijkplek op de Sint-Pietersberg, een uniek kijkje krijgen op de Oehoevallei en de dieren en planten die er leven.

Met de telescoop kun je speuren naar de machtige oehoe, de grootste uilensoort van Nederland. In de schemer vliegen hier verschillende vleermuizen, in de lente en zomer fladderen vlinders van bloem naar bloem. Op de kalkgronden groeien bijzondere bloemen en planten, zoals een aantal fraaie orchideeën vleugeltjesbloem en grote centaurie. 

In de steile wanden, zijn extra richtels aangemaakt voor meer rustplekken en broedplekken voor de Oehoe. Hierdoor hebben de oehoes en hun jongen meer gevarieerde uitwijkmogelijkheden. 

Natuurmonumenten laat het natuurgebied begrazen door schapen. Deze dieren zorgen ervoor dat het gebied niet wordt overwoekerd door gras en bomen krijgen zo geen kans om groot te groeien.

Dankzij de kalkrijke bodem vind je hier dieren en planten die normaal veel zuidelijker leven. Je vindt hier de grootste variatie vlinders van Nederland en er bloeien zomers prachtige orchideeën. Deze uitkijkplek biedt bezoekers van de Sint-Pietersberg een uniek kijkje in de ENCI-groeve met haar bijzondere bewoners zoals landgeiten, vossen en unieke vogels. "

"Depuis octobre 2010, Natuurmonumenten est le propriétaire de l’Oehoevallei: un bel endroit aux murs de marnes abruptes où vit le plus grand hibou d’Europe: le grand-duc. Ces oiseaux se reproduisent chaque année depuis 1998 avec succès dans les murs de l’Oehoevallei.

La belle vallée est débarrassée des forêts et des buissons excessifs et constitue maintenant un endroit calme et tranquille. Depuis le lieu dit "Kiekoet", un nouveau belvédère à oiseaux sur le Sint-Pietersberg, vous pouvez obtenir une vue unique sur les Oehoevallei, les animaux et les plantes qui y vivent.

Avec le télescope, vous pouvez rechercher le grand hibou, la plus grande espèce de hibou des Pays-Bas. Au crépuscule, différentes chauves-souris volent ici, au printemps et en été, les papillons voltigent de fleur en fleur. Des fleurs et des plantes spéciales poussent sur les sols calcaires, telles qu'un certain nombre de belles orchidées, de fleurs ailées et de grandes centaurées.

Dans les murs escarpés, des directives supplémentaires ont permis de créer  davantage de lieux de repos et de sites de nidification. En conséquence, les hiboux et leurs petits ont des alternatives plus variées.

Natuurmonumenten permettent à la réserve naturelle d'être pâturée par des moutons. Ces animaux veillent à ce que la zone ne soit pas envahie par l'herbe et que les arbres ne puissent pas grandir.

Grâce au sol calcaire, vous trouverez des animaux et des plantes qui vivent normalement beaucoup plus au sud, ainsi qu'une grande variété de papillons des Pays-Bas et de belles orchidées en fleurs en été. Ce point de vue offre aux visiteurs de Sint-Pietersberg un aperçu unique de la carrière ENCI et de ses habitants privilégiés tels que les chèvres terrestres, les renards et des oiseaux uniques."
