Die grüne Glocke im Schweriner Dom ist das Geschenk zweier Fischer. Sie landeten einst an dem anderen Ende des großen Sees, um ihre Netze zu untersuchen, da sie nichts gefangen hatten. Dort standen zwei seltsam gekleidete Knaben am Ufer und baten die Fischer sie mitzunehmen. Die Schiffer willigten gerne ein. Als sie sich aber auf der Mitte des Sees nach ihren Passagieren umsahen, waren diese verschwunden und an ihrer Stelle standen zwei Kisten. Die kleine davon war mit Gold gefüllt, in der anderen war eine schöne Glocke. Das Geld teilten sie sich, die Glocke aber schenkten sie an den Dom, welchem sie jetzt noch wegen ihres Wohlklangs eine Zierde ist."

The green bell in Schwerin Cathedral is the gift of two fishermen. They once landed at the other end of the large lake to examine their nets because they had not caught anything. But when they looked around the middle of the lake for their passengers, they had disappeared and two crates stood in their place. The small one was filled with gold, in the other one there was a beautiful bell. They shared the money, but they gave the bell to the cathedral, to which it is still an ornament because of its melodious sound."
