"The statue of Mother and Child in the Storm is the original work of Hongo Shin, a sculptor famous for a number of monuments including "Wadatsumi's Statue". All Hongo's works are highly expressive of human love. This statue was funded by the Hiroshima City Ladies Union in August 1960.
