Un bloc erratique est, en géologie et en géomorphologie, un fragment de roche de taille relativement importante d'origine morainique qui a été déplacé par un glacier parfois sur de grandes distances. Lors de la fonte du glacier, le bloc erratique est abandonné sur place.
Le block de Lanaye est d'origine de la graviere block un peu plus loin.

A glacial erratic is a piece of rock that differs from the size and type of rock native to the area in which it rests. "Erratics" take their name from the Latin word errare (to wander), and are carried by glacial ice, often over distances of hundreds of kilometres.
