The Museum houses the remains taken during excavations, both building remains and elements of material culture, belonging to several monumental buildings dating from different eras, inscriptions, loose architectural elements, more than a thousand coins and more than five hundred ceramic remains, among others.

It is in this same place where, in late Roman republican times, in 138 BC, the Roman city of Valentia Edetanorum was founded with its associated foundation rite. The point would be very close to the junction between the cardo and the decumano maximum , the two main communication routes that crossed the city.

Here, a well filled with the remains of a probable ritual offering has been found. The reason for this deposit was, probably, the construction of those same two main streets.
In the well, whose depth is 3.29 m, were found ceramic pieces such as pots, pans, mortars , tableware and containers intended to contain wine, oil, fish sauce and, perhaps, beer. Along with this ceramic lot were found many bones of young animals, less than a year old, among which were pig, bull, sheep, goat and rooster.

It is known that the first inhabitants of the city were former soldiers of the wars against Viriato , Italics coming from the south and center of the Italian peninsula, both for their funeral customs and rituals, as well as for their daily customs. Granting lands to these veterans was a way to control and defend the territory, as well as the establishment of a bridgehead in Hispania for future conquests of the peninsula.
