1942, Le M.N.B., Mouvement National Belge, est un groupe de résistants très actifs dans la région. Albert Loza, ingénieur-technicien, habitant à Lodelinsart, est adjoint du chef provincial du M.N.B., matricule H.2. Il assure aussi la distribution d’une feuille clandestine : « La Voix des Belges ». Il est arrêté suite à une dénonciation le 18 mai 1942 à l’Université du Travail où il enseigne, en plein cours. Celle-ci aurait rapporté à son auteur une somme de 150.000 francs. Il est fusillé le 29 juillet 1942 à 5h00 du matin.
Henry Wyers, employé des Régies à Jumet, actuaire du M.N.B., matricule X.30, est arrêté le 21 mai 1942, son procès a lieu le 1er octobre 1942, il sera fusillé le 15 décembre 1942 à 8h00.
Au même endroit, d’autres condamnés ont été fusillés et particulièrement des otages de Teugels, alors bourgmestre rexiste de Charleroi.
Depuis 1946, le dernier dimanche de juillet, une délégation du M.N.B. se rend en pèlerinage à la carrière, aujourd’hui désaffectée, afin de leur rendre hommage. En 1955, une croix a été dressée à l’endroit présumé de l’exécution.
En 1960, à l’initiative des prisonniers politiques, a été érigé un monument : une base en moellons provenant de la carrière et un poteau planté en son milieu, des plaques de marbres portent le nom des mouvements dont des membres ont été exécutés. Une commémoration a lieu chaque 3ème dimanche de septembre.

In 1960, at the initiative of the political prisoners, a monument was erected: a rubble base from the quarry and a pole planted in the middle, marble plaques bearing the name of the movements whose members were executed.A commemoration takes place every 3rd Sunday of September.
