The Confederate Memorial Chapel is all that remains from a large retirement community for indigent Confederate Veterans at this location. Please take time to tour the beautiful American Gothic Chapel. This is waymarked separately under Virginia Historic Markers and the National Register of Historic Places.
Outside the Chapel, this cannon from Fort Sumter is displayed. The plaque reads simply, "One of the guns used in the defence of Fort Sumter."
