EN: The monument of La Tène stands next to the parking of the campground of La Tène. It is an exact replica of a Celtic sword found nearby, seven times enlarged. It was created by the artist Francis Berthoud and erected in 1985.

The La Tène culture was an Iron Age culture that coverd most of western Europe and the south of the British isles in the last five centuries BC. The culture was named after one of the largest finding sites of remains of this culture. In the 1850s, La Tène was a piece of marchland east of the village Marin; the the surface height of the lake was lowered as a land improvement measure. On the area that surfaced, a large historical site was discoverd with thousands of objects, hundres of them iron swords. The exact place is now a campground. After the merger of some villages in 2009, the new municipality chose the meanwhile famous name La Tène as its new one.
