EN: The campground of La Tène is located at the northern end of Lake Neuchâtel right next to the Thielle Canal. It has three distinct sections, the triangle in the south is for short stay caravans and RVs, a section in the north between trees for tents and the large main section is occupied by residents. A small marina cuts the area in two pieces.

At the entrance there is a shop and a restaurant. The beach next to the entrance is public.

The place is a really historic site. Until the late 19th century this corner was mainly under water and swampland. When the surface of the lake was lowered in the 1850s, a large archological site was uncovered. Wooden building fundaments, iron age weapons and much more, thousands of objects. The discovery site became the namesake for the La Tène culture that covered large parts of Continetal Europe in the last five centuries BC. Today, there are no more remains on site, except for a few replica in a showcase at the beach.

FR: Le camping de La Tène est situé à l'extrémité nord du lac de Neuchâtel, juste à côté du canal de Thielle. Il comporte trois sections distinctes: le triangle au sud est destiné aux caravanes de courte durée et aux véhicules récréatifs, une section au nord entre les arbres pour les tentes et la grande section principale est occupée par des résidents. Une petite marina coupe la zone en deux morceaux.

À l'entrée, il y a un magasin et un restaurant. La plage à côté de l'entrée est publique.

L'endroit est un site vraiment historique. Jusqu'à la fin du 19ème siècle, ce coin était principalement sous l'eau et le marécage. Lorsque la surface du lac a été abaissée dans les années 1850, un grand site archéologique a été découvert. Fondements en bois, armes en fer et beaucoup d’autres objets. Le site de découverte est devenu le nom de la culture de La Tène qui couvrait une grande partie de l'Europe continentale au cours des cinq derniers siècles avant notre ère. Aujourd'hui, il n'y a plus de restes sur place, à l'exception de quelques répliques dans une vitrine sur la plage.
