Im Wiener Stadtpark steht gegenüber dem Johann-Strauss-Denkmal ein Zierkirschenbaum. Davor sind zwei rote Marmortafeln im Boden. Eine mit deutscher Inschrift, die andere mit japanischer. Der deutsche Text lautet:
Dieser Zierkirschenbaum ist ein Symbol der Freundschaft zwischen dem Japanischen Gifu und dessen Schwesterstadt Meidling

Der japanische Text ist sehr wahrscheinlich identisch. Leider scheint der Baum nicht mehr in bester Verfassung zu sein.

In the Vienna City Park, opposite the Johann Strauss monument is a Japanese flowering cherry tree. In front of it are two red marble panels in the floor. One with German inscription, the other with Japanese. The translation of the German text is:
