À l’occasion de la Journée internationale de la Biodiversité, et dans le cadre de la célébration des 20 ans du Programme LIFE de la Communauté Européenne, Natagora et Natuurpunt vous invitent à la Réserve naturelle Baron Edgar Kesteloot dans le village de Boirs - Commune de Bassenge (Province de Liège).
La Réserve naturelle de « Derrière les Massottes » a été acquise par Natagora en 2010.
Cette réserve fait partie intégrante du réseau de Réserves Naturelles de la Montagne Saint-Pierre à cheval sur les deux régions wallonne et flamande.
Cette acquisition a été rendue possible grâce à la générosité de M. le Baron Edgar Kesteloot et a bénéficié des moyens mis à disposition par le projet LIFE Hélianthème.
Pour rappel, Edgar Kesteloot, est un scientifique et homme de télévision belge né en 1922.
Chef de travaux honoraires à l’Institut Royal des Sciences Naturelles de Belgique, membre du jury de la Fondation Belge de la Vocation depuis 1980, fondateur et président d'honneur des Réserves Naturelles et Ornithologiques de Belgique (RNOB) il est aussi Président de la Fondation belge pour la Conservation des Habitats.

On the occasion of the International Biodiversity Day, and as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the European Community's LIFE Program, Natagora and Natuurpunt invite you to the Baron Edgar Kesteloot Nature Reserve in the village of Boirs - Commune de Bassenge (Province of Liège).
The Nature Reserve of "Behind the Massottes" was acquired by Natagora in 2010.
This reserve is an integral part of the network of natural reserves of the Montagne Saint-Pierre straddling the two Walloon and Flemish regions.
This acquisition was made possible thanks to the generosity of Baron Edgar Kesteloot and benefited from the resources made available by the LIFE Hélianthème project.
As a reminder, Edgar Kesteloot, is a Belgian scientist and television man born in 1922.
Honorary professor at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, member of the jury of the Belgian Foundation of the Vocation since 1980, founder and honorary president of the Natural and Ornithological Reserves of Belgium (RNOB) he is also President of the Belgian Foundation for the Conservation of Habitats.

Ter gelegenheid van de Internationale Dag van de Biodiversiteit, en als onderdeel van de viering van 20 jaar van het LIFE-programma van de Europese Gemeenschap, en Natagora Natuurpunt nodigen u uit om de Nature Reserve Baron Edgar Kesteloot in het dorp Boirs - Commune Bassenge (Provincie Luik).
Het natuurreservaat van "Behind the Massottes" werd in 2010 door Natagora overgenomen.
Deze reserve is een onderdeel van de Natuurreservaten Network Mountain St. Peter breukvlak tussen de Vlaamse en Waalse regio's.
Deze overname werd mogelijk gemaakt door de vrijgevigheid van Baron Edgar Kesteloot en geprofiteerd van de middelen die door het LIFE-project Rock Rose.
Ter herinnering, Edgar Kesteloot, is een Belgische wetenschapper en televisieman geboren in 1922.
Chief fee werkt aan het Koninklijk Instituut voor Natuurwetenschappen van België, jurylid van de Belgische Stichting Roeping sinds 1980, oprichter en erevoorzitter van de natuur- en vogelreservaten België (RNOB) is ook voorzitter van de Belgische Stichting voor het Behoud van Habitats.

The only trail you can take (it is not really a trail, rather a path created by the sheep) is the smaal path upwards to the left upper corner. there you can open a gate and walk to the left to the cross behind les Massottes.

Overlook of the Geer (river) valley.
What activities are available?:
Walking, exploring flora and fauna. You can discover the tigerspider if you like.
