La Poste - 1580 Avenches, VD, Switzerland - European Post Offices on Waymarking.com

EN: The post office of Avenches is located just outside the old town center at the road to the railway station at the bottom of the hill.

It is a large neo-Classical building with five window rows and four dormers on the hipped roof. I could not find any history, but the building must have built around the time when the railway station was built (that is 1876) or shortly after, because before there was no reason to have it on the north side of the hill.

FR: Le bureau de poste d'Avenches est situé juste à l'extérieur du centre de la vieille ville à la route de la gare au bas de la colline.

C'est un grand bâtiment néo-classique avec cinq rangées de fenêtres et quatre lucarnes sur le toit en croupe. Je n'ai pas pu trouver d'histoire, mais le bâtiment a dû être construit à l'époque de la construction de la gare (1876) ou peu de temps après, car il n'y avait pas de raison de l'avoir du côté nord de la colline.
