EN: The bird sanctuary Fanel is located on the northeastern shore of Lake Neuchâtel on the territory of the cantons of Bern and Neuchâtel. It immediately adjoins the Chablais de Cudrefin nature reserve, located on the opposite bank of the Broye Canal in the canton of Vaud. The area is listed in six different protection classes of regional, national and international significance, making it one of the best protected areas in Switzerland. So far, 170 different species of birds have been sighted in the area, including very rare ones. Just a few of them are: Little Grebe and Great Crested Grebe, Cormorant, Little and Great Bittern.

Therefore, access is only allowed to a very limited extent. One of the few exceptions is this observation hut. It can be reached on a footpath that begins at the bridge over the canal and leads for about one and a half kilometers along the canal, then the path turns into the protected area and ends at this hut, which is located on a hill.

The hut is a simple hexagonal wooden construction, from which the area can be observed in all directions.

Man erreicht sie auf einem Fussweg, der an der Brücke über den Kanal beginnt und rund eineinhalb Kilometer dem Kanal entlang führt, dann biegt der Weg ins Schutzgebiet ein und endet an dieser Hütte, die sich auf einem Hügel befindet.

Die Hütte ist eine einfache sechseckige Holzkonstruktion, von der aus sich das gebiet nach allen Seiten beobachten lässt.
