An extract from the board tells us that...
In 2015 Herm, Jethou and the Humps were formally designated as a Ramsar site - a wetland of international importance. Wetlands are habitats supporting a rich biodiversity and are among the world's most productive environments; as such they are a resource of great economic, cultural, recreational and scientific value. Underpinning the Ramsar philosophy is 'wise use' of wetlands; the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands for the benefit of people and nature.
The board is on a path above a beach and tells the story of what's beyond it. It also has information about the flora and fauna that inhabits the wetlands.
