[EN] The first mentions of a church in Bex date back to the 12th century and mention a small Catholic church dedicated to St. Clement. Following the Bernese invasion and the establishment of the Protestant Reformation, a new Protestant church was built on the site in the 16th century. Following a tragic fire in 1813, the building was to be completely rebuilt in 1813-1814, while retaining the former bell tower. This site is led by the architect Henri Perregaux, which gives a neoclassical touch to the building, however, making a semi-circular choir. This very special form is an exception for this period and in this region, but was desired by the municipal authorities already in the late eighteenth century. Classified historical monument in 1900.

The church tower, inscribed as Swiss cultural property of national importance, was built in 1501, probably by Jean Vaulet-Dunoyer, author of a series of beautiful steeples in the region of Old Chablais and Lower Valais . It has an octagonal tuff arrow whose faces are slightly concave to reduce the angles. The large bell, still existing will be installed in 1513.
