The Douglass Community Center is located in the former Douglass School located on the southwest corner of Sycamore Ave. and Kings Place. It is located just south of the Douglass Auditorium, and we believe the auditorium is also used by the center. The school was an African American school during segregation and closed in 1968. This is an active center located in the African American community and also houses a Senior Citizen Center.

This is a one-story classroom building constructed of coursed native sandstone. It was built in 1936 as a WPA Project, and has continued to serve the local community since the school closed in 1968.
