Gegenüber diesem stilisierten Torbogen befindet sich die große St. Jacobskirche von Sint Jacobiparochie. Sint Jacobiparochie ist der Ausgangspunkt des Jabikspaad, des friesischen Camino de Santiago (Jakobsweg). Der Jabikspaad ist 130 Kilometer lang und führt nach Hasselt. Der Überlieferung nach träumte Kaiser Karl der Große von einer Straße aus Sternen, die vom Friesischen Meer durch Europa nach Santiago de Compostela in Spanien führte. Einmal wäre ein friesischer Büßer von Sint Jacobiparochie nach Spanien gegangen. Im Jahr 2000 wurde der Jabikspaad mit Beschilderungen versehen. Im Gegensatz zu den anderen europäischen Jakobsstraßen ist das Symbol des Jabikspaad nicht der Sint Jacobsmuschel, sondern der Wulk (das Haus der Wellhornschnecke - Buccinum undatum.

Sint Jacobiparochie is the starting point of the Jabikspaad, the Frisian Camino de Santiago or Way of St. James. The Jabikspaad is 130 kilometers long and leads to Hasselt. According to tradition, the Emperor Charles the Great dreamed of a road of stars that ran from the Frisian Sea through Europe to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
