This Chapel which stands between il-Qala and the coast at Hondoq ir-Rummien, is one of the earliest Marian shrines on the island and dates back to 1575. It is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary.
The cemetery is hard surfaced with many headstones packed closely together and very well maintained.
Many of the graves have small statuary monuments, and a large number of them are finely carved with images of Christ or the Virgin Mary.
