The city park of Winschoten invites you to stroll on an area of ??70 hectares, of which ponds and lakes alone occupy six hectares. In the southern part of the park, which is very close to the shopping center of Winschoten, is the Rosarium. In the spring, 7,000 rhododendrons bloom in the park, and as of June, 20,000 roses and 320 species transform the Rosarium into a fairytale dream garden.

The Rosarium, build 1967, in Winschoten is one of the largest rose gardens in the Netherlands and known all over the Netherlands for the rose trials, which assess the quality of new roses before they reach the market. The visitor can not care, because he can enjoy the scents and colors of the worldwide popular roses here. And in the midst of this splendor lies the rose pavilion, which invites for a short rest.
Every year on the first Saturday in July the Groenmarkt takes place, where plants, gardening articles and of course lots of roses are offered!

The Rosarium in the city park at the Mr. D.U. Stikkerlaan in Winschoten is open all year long.
