" Formerly leaning against the churchyard, the old fountain "Pichou Saint-Piat" in Tournai was rebuilt in 1931 at the entrance of a popular district strongly attached to local rhythms.
The old fountain was destroyed in 1883 but an architect, Jules Wilbaux, and a sculptor-statuary, Paul Du Bois, revived it with as much inspiration as verve.
A high terminal stamped with the coat of arms of the city composes the main aspect of this monument dedicated today to Walloon literature and song. The attention is however attracted by this smiling and audacious boy, mischievous and joker, this Tournaisian titi which seems to throw water to the passers by his mocking gesture and released.
Symbol of the good people of Tournai, he echoes his happy song. "

" Autrefois adossée au cimetière de l'église, l'ancienne fontaine « Pichou Saint-Piat » à Tournai a été redressée en 1931 à l'entrée d'un quartier populaire fortement attaché aux rythmes locaux.

Une haute borne frappée des armoiries de la ville compose l'aspect principal de ce monument dédié aujourd'hui à la littérature et à la chanson wallonne. L'attention est cependant attirée par ce gosse souriant et audacieux, malicieux et farceur, ce titi tournaisien qui semble jeter de l'eau aux passants par son geste goguenard et libéré.
Symbole du bon peuple de Tournai, il lance aux échos sa chanson joyeuse. "
