The current mural differs slightly from the original design. During painting, the painters, at the request of the local population, adapted the wonderful view of the underwater world more to the local fish and coral reefs of Bonaire.
The mural was given a lot of attention locally and online. Many people responded via Facebook that they cannot wait to visit Bonaire so they can view the mural itself. Others call it a "Wall of Hope" or "My favorite wall on the island." Bernard Oosterhoff, Director of TWR Bonaire, says, “The mural shows how beautiful life is under water around Bonaire.
