Located at the court house square in Lexington, Ky., this statue of Gen’l. John Hunt Morgan on his horse was dedicated in 1910.

John Hunt Morgan was a Confederate officer who lead raids behind enemy lines during the Civil War. He was captured in an Indiana/Ohio raid, he escaped and was killed in Greenville, TN. Morgan, known as the “Thunderbolt of the Confederacy”, became a courageous symbol of the Lost Cause.
