The transformation of the buildings is entrusted to the architect Legrand.
The future theater is initially planned as a place of meeting and it is under the pressure of amateurs eager to see the city to have a real theater that the room evolves.
The Town Hall is inaugurated on May 13, 1857, presumably the theater too.

Realized in just twenty-six months (from December 1999 to February 2002) under the direction of M. le Bocq, urban planner architect in Rouen, the restoration work is a complete success rewarded by the 8th "Ribbons of Heritage" competition in 2002 .
Today, the Theater is a place of live entertainment that hosts since autumn 2003, a multidisciplinary program. It is interesting to point out that a large part of the regulars of the theater are people to whom the monument has always been familiar even before its renovation and reopening as a place of entertainment. Après la chute du régime (1848) et la mort de Louis-Philippe (août 1850), les bâtiments sont vendus. A cette époque, la municipalité eudoise cherche à quitter son hôtel de ville, jugé vétuste. Elle achète les sept bâtiments (appelé la Smala, nom donné en souvenir de la smala d’Abd-el-Kader prise par le duc d’Aumale en Algérie, fils de Louis-Philippe) en juillet 1855 pour y installer son nouvel hôtel de ville. La transformation des bâtiments est confiée à l’architecte Legrand.
Le futur théâtre est d’abord prévu comme un lieu de réunion et c’est sous la pression d’amateurs désireux de voir la ville se doter d’un vrai théâtre que la salle évolue.
L’hôtel de ville est inauguré le 13 mai 1857, vraisemblablement le théâtre aussi.
Jusqu’à la première moitié du XXème siècle, le théâtre a un usage polyvalent (remise de prix, bals ou matchs de boxe…).
Réalisés en seulement vingt-six mois (de décembre 1999 à février 2002) sous la direction de M. le Bocq, architecte urbaniste à Rouen, les travaux de restauration sont une complète réussite récompensée par le 8ème Concours des « Rubans du patrimoine » en 2002 .
Aujourd’hui, le Théâtre est un lieu de spectacle vivant qui accueille depuis l’automne 2003, une programmation pluridisciplinaire. Il est intéressant de souligner qu’une grande partie des habitués du théâtre sont des personnes auxquelles le monument a toujours été familier avant même sa rénovation et sa réouverture comme lieu de spectacles."
