Ubaye est une ancienne commune française, située dans le département des Alpes-de-Haute-Provence en région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, à 29 kilomètres de Barcelonnette et 32 de Gap.
La mise en eau du lac de Serre-Ponçon en 1959 ayant comme effet de noyer entièrement le village d'Ubaye, la commune a été alors fusionnée avec la commune voisine du Lauzet pour former une nouvelle commune nommée Le Lauzet-Ubaye.
Le cimetière, inondé sous le lac a été déplacé au bord de la route départementale 954. Cette nouvelle église a été construite entre 1950 et 1960 au moment du déplacement du cimetière afin d'y célébrer de nombreuses messes lors du ré-enterrement des personnes initialement enterrées dans l'ancien cimetière.
Depuis cette époque et jusqu'à ce que le cimetière soit plein, cette église était uniquement utilisée pour les nouveaux décès pour lesquels les défuns devaient être enterrés ici. Aujourd'hui, des messes y sont célébrées à la demande des familles, en mémoire des défunts.

Ubaye is a former French commune, located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, 29 kilometers from Barcelonnette and 32 from Gap.
The impoundment of Lake Serre-Ponçon in 1959 having the effect of completely drowning the village of Ubaye, the town was then merged with the neighboring town of Lauzet to form a new town called Le Lauzet-Ubaye. The cemetery, flooded under the lake, has been moved to the edge of provincial road 954. This new church was built between 1950 and 1960 when the cemetery was moved in order to celebrate many masses there during the re-burial of the people initially buried in the old cemetery.
Since that time and until the cemetery was full, this church was only used for new deaths for which the deceased were to be buried here. Today, masses are celebrated there at the request of families, in memory of the deceased.
