The megalithic tomb of Los Zumacales is a neolithic megalithic monument of the Neolithic age (around 5500 BC c.1) It is located near Simancas (province of Valladolid), autonomous community of Castilla y León, Spain.

-History

It was discovered in the 60s of the 20th century, coincidentally, by a farmer who was using a bulldozer and hit the stones. Excavation campaigns have been carried out in the years 1982, 1989 and 1990.2 Rests of bones of young and adults (in total 22 people) 2 and various funerary objects have been found. At present, due to its state of abandonment, it has suffered pillage and vandalism, so in February 2016 it was included in the red list of Hispania Nostra.
That same 2016 the Junta de Castilla y León made an investment of more than 62,000 euros to rehabilitate the site, among which have been works of restitution to its original place of limestone blocks moved in 1981 and reconstruction of the dolmen chamber and the volumetric restitution of the tumulus and an access with signals for those who want to visit it.

-The construction

It was built around the year 5500 a. c.1 It consists of a medium-sized limestone tomb with a circular chamber about 6.5 meters in diameter accessed through a corridor or corridor.The stones that make up the tomb are not in a vertical position but rather they rest lying on their major sides.
