Au coeur du quartier de la Boucherie, la chapelle Saint Aurélien a été construite en 1471 pour recueillir les reliques du saint patron des bouchers, le deuxième évêque de Limoges : saint Aurélien. Agrandie au XVIIème siècle, elle est dotée d'un clocher à bulbe en bardeaux de châtaignier. Achetée à la Révolution par la confrèrie des bouchers, cette chapelle privée mais ouverte au public recèle un riche mobilier cultuel dont un groupe sculpté du XVème siècle, représentant sainte Anne, la Vierge Marie et l'Enfant Jésus portant à la bouche un rognon.

In the heart of the district of the Boucherie, the Saint Aurelian chapel was built in 1471 to collect the relics of the patron saint of butchers, the second bishop of Limoges: Saint Aurelian. Enlarged in the 17th century, it has a bulbous bell tower with chestnut shingles. Purchased at the Revolution by the guild of butchers, this private chapel but open to the public, contains a rich cultic furniture including a carved group of the 15th century, representing St. Anne, the Virgin Mary and the Child Jesus wearing a kidney.
