The sign located near the millstone reads:
This is a French Milling Stone (also called a Buhrstone) used in the William Gottbreht Sr. Mill House, built about 1887 in Dunseith.
Three grades of flour were produced: Turtle Mountain Mill, Dunseith Best and Buffalo. This stone weighs over 1000 pounds.
