My information concerning this house comes solely from the town walking tour guide (in gallery).
The house was built in 1926, during the days of French rule. It was, I infer, the official residence of the "French security officer"—duties unstated. The facade is Art Deco.
Savanakhet is a southern Laos town, a provincial capital, and something of a cross roads then and now. The house is in the old quarter, in the better part of town, but now a little away from the main action. I am unsure if the house is currently occupied. The garden looks unkept, gate locked, and there is a general air of neglect.
