Text on cairn:

R.F. - M.M.
LAUGHLIN

Information on the cairn is non-existent and information of the people is very small.
Robert F. Laughlin was a Civil War soldier, although I do not fully understand the text on his military tombstone. It reads: 30.7.   78 ILL. INF.
The 78th Illinois Infantry is easy...the 30.7. it has no meaning to me.

His wife, who he married in 1866, was Mary Maude Smith Laughlin has very little to add.
