Confirmation service was held, in St.
Michael's Lutheran Church at Hahndorf
on Sunday. There were nine candidates—*
five boys and four girls. The building wag
tastefully decorated with fern* and white
flowers. The church was crowded. The
choir, under Miss Bom, gave several selec
tions. The service was conducted by thai

WALLAROO, November 29.—A success
ful gathering of men vras held at the Re»
chabite Iiall on Friday night in connection
with the Lloyd Memorial Congregational
Church. A dinner was held at 7 o'clock,
and 70 men of the church attended. After
dinner speeches were given by Rev. David
Morgan (pastor) on "What the church has
done for men;" Mr. T. John, "What the
church is doing for men," and Mr. J. D.
Phillips,' "What our men- do for the
church." Brief discussions were initiate^
by Messrs. W. Phillips, J. J. Jones, W.
P. Jones, and W. J. Osman. Consider
able interest was roused by the speeches,
and much enthusiasm prevailed. Mr.
August IJagedorn presided. Quartets were
rendered by the Welsh Male Quartet Party,
(Messrs. T. Prosser, W. T. Phillips, W.
Phillips, and W. 0. Jones). Mr. T. John
was accompanist. A recitation was givenl
