Leonardo da Vinci was a Renaissance man of great talent and genius. He fully embodied the spirit of the times, revolutionizing the figurative arts, and the history of thought and science. He was a painter, engineer and scientist, as well as an architect, sculptor, designer, scenographer, anatomist, musician, urban planner, botanist and inventor. He is considered to be one of the greatest geniuses of all time.
The Leonardo da Vinci Museum exhibits Vinci's universal genius through interactive machines, multimedia videos, educational laboratories, infographics, anatomical studies and his most important paintings.
In the exhibition rooms, more than 500 square metres, you will be able to discover Leonardo da Vinci’s world, his life and his magnificent works.
You will see the workings of his most important engineering projects, with more than 60 perfectly functioning machines, realised by following his plans faithfully, such as the “War Machines”, the “Civil Engineering Machines”, the “Flying Machines”, the “Ideal City” and the “Principles of Physics”. You will be able to follow his ambitious life-long dream to fly.
For each Machine there are explanatory notes on the principles applied, translated into 6 languages.
The rooms are equipped with multimedia displays that will help you understand and make your visit more interesting.
You will be able to examine his anatomical studies, as well as his main works of art, through the use of very high-resolution, back-lit installations.
