A pad was embedded at the foot of the war memorial in memory of Pierre Trillaud, died in Hamburg, under bombardment, while required for the labor service (STO). His children and his family were present for the ceremony and Anna Warda, André Roy, secretary of the deportees South Vendée, Joel Bobineau, mayor, and Gunter Demning, initiator of the Stolpersteine ??project.
The latter, a native of Cologne, has launched the concept in Germany, in Cologne first, then in Hamburg and then in seventeen countries. Since 1996, 40,000 pavers have been sealed. They are placed in front of each house where lived these "convicts of work" for these stones "trigger the memory to remember these young requisitioned for compulsory service in Germany."
Trillaud Pierre was born in 1922. He lived in the forest house of CORNELIERE in Mervent, when it was commandeered to work in Germany. He died July 25, 1943, during the bombing of Hamburg, leaving a young wife with two children and a third to be born. His family believes that "this recognition comes a little late but it's important to know that these requirements have no choice for forced labor."

Ils sont posés devant chaque maison où ont vécu ces « forçats du travail » pour que ces pierres « déclenchent la mémoire afin de se souvenir de ces jeunes réquisitionnés pour le service obligatoire en Allemagne ».
Pierre Trillaud était né en 1922. Il habitait la maison forestière de la Cornelière, à Mervent, quand il a été réquisitionné pour aller travailler en Allemagne. Il est décédé le 25 juillet 1943, sous les bombardements d'Hambourg, laissant une jeune femme avec deux enfants et un troisième à naître. Sa famille pense que « cette reconnaissance vient un peu tard mais c'est important de faire savoir que ces requis n'ont pas eu le choix pour ce travail forcé ».
