Rudolf Höckner (* 28. Juli 1864 in Wolkenstein (Erzgebirge); † 22. April 1942 in Bad Mergentheim) has become known as a painter of the North German landscape. He lived in Wedel for more than 25 years. On the occasion of his 75th birthday, he received honorary citizenship from the city of Wedel. After his death, Wedel was able to secure part of his estate. Twelve paintings were reproduced in 2000 for the Rudolf-Höckner-Rundweg and set up on easels near the sites where the works were painted between 1915 and 1941.
