EN: The Andreaskirche is located in the center of Gossau. A church at this location has been documented since the year 910. The current building dates back to 1737.
The park next to the church was probably once the community cemetery and has been relocated to the outskirts decades ago, like in many other places. But he former priests of the church are still buried on the south side of the chancel. Instead of gravestones, metal plates are attached to the wall.
DE: Die Andreaskirche steht im Zentrum von Gossau. Eine Kirche an dieser Stelle ist seit dem Jahr 910 belegt. Das heutige Gebäude stammt im Kern aus dem Jahr 1737.
Der Park neben der Kirche war vermutlich früher einmal der Gemeindefriedhof und ist, wie an vielen anderen Orten, vor eingen Jahrzehnten and der Stadtrand verlegt worden. Die ehemaligen Priester der Kirche sind aber noch immer an der Südseite des Chors begraben. Anstelle von Grabsteinen sind metallene Platten an der Mauer angebracht.
