This chapel is built into the large curved wall at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, which is also known as the Punchbowl Cemetery, since the entire cemetery is located in, and on the edges of, the Punchbowl -- an extent volcano crater. There are no burials in the wall itself or the chapel, which is at one edge of the cemetery.
The chapel is very small, seating perhaps 32 people in a pinch. At the front is a Christian Cross, a Jewish Star, and a Wheel for Buddhism/Hinduism/Jainism. It is situated immediately behind the large statue of Lady Columbia, which is notable seen at the beginning of Hawaii Five-0 episodes (both old and new).
The cemetery for veterans is bowl-shaped, as one would expect in an extent volcano crater. There are over 58,000 burials here, most of which have ground-flush markers. There are burials for unknown soldiers, as well as cenotaphs for missing soldiers. It was started for World War II burials, but includes other Pacific action wars.
