In den Weingärten von Neustift am Walde (Teil des 19. Bezirks) befindet sich an der Kreuzung Mitterwurzergasse / Fuhrgassl eine metallene Reblaus. Dahinter befindet sich eine Tafel mit folgender Inschrift:
Die Reblaus
1772 Die Reblaus wurde aus Kalifornien eingeschleppt
1880 erreichte dieser Schädling unser Weinbaugebiet und drohte es zu vernichten. Die einzig mögliche Rettung war die Veredelung unserer Edelsorten auf einer Reblaus unempfindlichen Unterlage.
