Hrbitov byl založen v polovine 19. století nákladem obce Michle, protože michelský starý hrbitov u kostela Narození Panny Marie již nedostacoval. V jihozápadní cásti hrbitova býval zdí oddelený hrbitov pro trestance, zrízený pankráckou trestnicí, který míval samostatný vchod z ulice Ke Strži. Tento hrbitov byl zrušen ve 30. letech 20. století.

Kaple byla vybudována pravdepodobne v první tretine 20. století. Je to jednoduchá obdélná stavba s edikulou na streše.


Stále užívaný hrbitov je dnes ze všech stran obehnaný panelovými domy.

The cemetery was founded in the middle of the 19th century by the Michle village, because the old cemetery near the Church of the Virgin Mary was already inadequate. In the southwest part of the cemetery there used to be a separate cemetery for prisoners, set up by a Pankrác penitentiary, which had a separate entrance from Ke Strži Street. This cemetery was abolished in the 1930s.

The chapel was probably built in the first third of the 20th century. It is simple rectangular building with an edicle on the roof-
