There used to be several army-themed museums in the Netherlands. Plans were made to form one National museum. This resulted in the "Nationaal Militair Museum" (National Military Museum). In 2014 this museum opened at former army airbase "Soesterberg". The airbase opened in 1910 and closed in 2009. During the period 1954 - 1994 the American 32nd Fighter Group
was stationed at the airbase.
Next to all other sorts of military equipment there are also all the planes the Dutch Airforce ever has flown.
